Single Roll Roller Dies (SRRD)
This system was patented by RMS and combines the
flexibility and economy of a simple extruder head with
the accuracy and control of a calender. The advantage of the
specially designed combination of pre-form die and roll is to
allow the pressure to be released to atmosphere when the
extrudate reaches the roll. The roll wipes the compound past
the final die eliminating dies and well enabling the manufacture
of very dimensionally accurate extruded profiles or strips.
Zero pressure extrusion - low pressure equals lower temperatures which allows for higher productivity without sacrificing product accuracy.
Suitable for inner-liner, tread, apex, sidewall and miscellaneous products with improved dimensional control.
